Come get the load-down on loadbearing masonry walls with Philippe “Phil” Ledent. Phil will review the TMS 402 requirements as they relate to the design of bearing wall structures. An overview of common gravity loads (dead, live, roof live, snow) will be presented and compared with the high axial capacity that masonry walls offer. Additionally, Phil will examine common lateral loads, including wind and seismic, and how masonry walls can resist combined axial and lateral loads.
