Why Masonry Matters:
Masonry is more than just a construction technique – it’s a timeless craft that enhances the beauty, durability, and sustainability of our structures. MISL is an advocate for the industry, we actively share the benefits of masonry with our community of architects, engineers, and construction professionals.
MISL Facility:
Nestled within the St. Louis Masonry Centre, our institute is a hub of knowledge and collaboration. The center boasts a 2500 square foot multi-purpose meeting room, conference room, and library. Beyond serving as a space for institute and contractor gatherings, the Masonry Centre is a dynamic venue hosting meetings for local architectural, engineering, code officials, and construction groups. It’s where ideas are exchanged, relationships are forged, and the future of masonry is shaped.

Five voting members of the Mason Contractors Association of St. Louis, Missouri comprise the Board of Trustees which gives oversight to the operations of the Masonry Institute of St. Louis.

MISL Staff
Allison Bamberger
Program Director
Allison Bamberger serves as Program Director for the Masonry Institute of St. Louis. She is in charge of scheduling, planning and running all of MISL’s Continuing Education Seminars. She also keeps records of all attendees and their continuing education credits earned at the Masonry Centre.
Allison is also responsible for the MASONRY Resource Guide, published yearly. If you would like a copy, they are available both in digital and hard copy.

Allison is married to Joe Bamberger of St. Louis. They have two children, Betsy and Jack, and live in Ballwin.
Bruce Augustin, PE, SE
Technical Director
Bruce is a registered professional engineer licensed within the states of Missouri, Texas, and Georgia. He has been a structural engineer for over 20 years, managing both national and international projects. Bruce is currently a regular member of The Masonry Society (TMS), the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), the Masonry Alliance for Codes and Standards (MACS), and the American Society of Testing and Materials (ASTM) masonry committees 12 and 15.
Bruce obtained both his BS and MS degrees from Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville.
